SelectMail-in service across Hobart & TAS
Since 2016, MyDressbox has helped thousands of brides restore, protect and preserve their wedding dresses. Our specialist bridal cleaning team handles everything from delicate lace and beading to long trains and designer gowns, with insured courier transport available throughout Hobart and Tasmania.
Most dry cleaners handle many different garments. Wedding dresses are different. They often include delicate fabrics, long trains, lace, beading, sequins, glued details, makeup marks, fake tan, food and drink stains, and dirt through the hem.
MyDressbox focuses on wedding dress cleaning, boxing and aftercare. Our process is designed for bridal gowns rather than everyday garments, and our service is built for brides who want specialist care without needing to drive around Hobart looking for a bridal cleaner.
Every wedding dress fabric behaves differently under cleaning — our bridal specialists match the method to the material.
Silk
We don't clean genuine silk gowns. Many dresses described as silk are actually synthetic (polyester or silk-look satin) and are fine to send — if you're not sure which yours is, message us on live chat before ordering. A handling fee applies if a genuine silk gown is sent without checking first.
Lace
Delicate threadwork and appliqué need gentle handling to avoid snags or loosened beading.
Tulle
Lightweight and prone to snagging — handled with extra care to avoid tears or pulled threads.
Organza
Crisp and easily creased — carefully steamed to restore structure without flattening the weave.
Chiffon
Sheer and delicate — cleaned with a gentle touch to avoid stretching or distorting the fabric.
Satin
Shows watermarks and stains easily — marks are treated carefully to avoid rings or sheen changes.

Spot treatment
Professional steaming
Minor repairs included
Acid-free preservation boxing

I am amazed and delighted with my dress!! My wedding was 10 years ago, I've always wanted to get my dress cleaned but I thought after all this time it was a lost cause! My dress was very dirty and the blue dye from my shoes transferred onto the inside of my dress. When I discovered My Dress Box I thought I would finally give it a try. I never expected my dress to be this clean!! All of the dirt is gone and even most of the dye! And now my dress and veil are beautifully preserved in a box. I'm so happy with the result and encourage anyone thinking about getting their dress cleaned to do it! Thanks so much.

I just got my dress back and it looks amazing! It's been 8 years since I got married so I definitely did not prioritise cleaning my wedding dress after the event. There were some twigs in the train and a yellowish line down the front from my poor storage efforts when I sent it off. It looks as good as new, all the stains have gone and I'm so pleased I finally took the time to get it cleaned and stored properly, Thankyou so much.

Amazing! The bottom of my dress and veil were soaked in dirt/mud on my wedding day. We took my dress/veil to local dry cleaners and were told that the beading/stones would fall off due to being placed in powerful washers. This was when I found My Dress Box. They took such care of my dress/veil. Both were returned good as new and they even repaired the cup/bustle that had become unstitched. The service does take a while, however I believe the wait is worth it! Thank you for restoring my dress!!!

A few simple habits keep your gown looking its best for years after it comes back from us.
Keep it cool, dark and dry
Store away from direct sunlight, heat and damp areas to help prevent yellowing and mildew.
Skip long-term plastic covers
Plastic can trap moisture — our acid-free box is designed to let the fabric breathe.
Avoid hanging your gown long-term
The weight of the dress can stretch delicate fabric and seams over time — flat, boxed storage protects its shape.
Check in on it once a year
A quick yearly check lets you catch issues like moisture or pests before they affect the fabric.
Hobart was the first Australian city to have a casino, back in 1973, and today it's home to the groundbreaking MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) and a growing scene of bars and restaurants. There's even a cable car proposed for kunanyi/Mount Wellington, the mountain that watches over the whole city — a pretty special place to call home for a wedding.
Wedding dress cleaning in Hobart typically costs between $299 and $599 depending on the style, size and complexity of the gown. All MyDressbox Clean & Box packages include professional cleaning, steaming, minor repairs and an acid-free storage box.
